Justin Matthew Doyle met Avery Wolcott Broadbent through a mutual friend at a Brown University alumni cocktail party at the Racquet & Tennis Club of New York. The couple dated for sixteen months before Justin proposed—on his birthday. Justin and Avery were playing a game of tennis when Justin handed the ball to Avery to serve. She noticed that there was a slit on the seam of the ball, and upon further examination, found a ring tucked inside. Justin dropped to one knee and proposed on the court. That night, the couple celebrated their engagement with parents and siblings at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico, New York. The Reverend F.M. “Buddy” Stallings officiated at the ceremony at St. Bartholomew’s Church in New York City. A reception followed at the same club where the couple had met.
The bride, daughter of Camille and William S. Broadbent of Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich Academy and Brown University. She received a master’s in modern history from Oxford. Avery is a corporate sales manager at OneWire.com in New York.
The groom, son of Marlene and Aiden Doyle of Princeton, New Jersey, graduated from Princeton Country Day School and Princeton University. He is a stock analyst for the financial sector at Moore Capital in New York.
The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Bermuda before returning home to Manhattan.
