Summer Cafés

Every other Wednesday, on the beautiful dock of the Westport Arts Center, foodies gather for lunch and an interactive talk about food and community. Du Soleil sells fresh produce while a local business owner talks about his or her expertise. At earlier café get-together, floral designer Erin Ostreicher talked about how to use local flowers to create professional looking arrangements and Patti Popp from Easton’s Sport Hill Farm discussed organic farming in Fairfield County and GMOs.

Here’s a look at the upcoming speakers:

August 8 John Barricelli from Sono Baking Company will be talking cookbooks and baking and offering up some delicious samples, yum.

August 22 Dottie Carpenter from Doc’s Organic Maple Syrup will chat about maple farming and provide samples. Lori Cochran-Dougall, Director of Westport Farmers’ Market, will also be there to close the series by highlighting how important (and fun) it is to support local vendors.

The Summer Cafés take place on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. A completely seasonal lunch menu is available for purchase with items ranging from $3 to $15.
