Greenwich Hospital is a 206-bed (including bassinets) hospital serving patients from Fairfield and Westchester counties. Greenwich Hospital opened in 1903 and has evolved into a progressive medical center and teaching institution with an internal medicine residency. The hospital received the prestigious Summit Award from Press Ganey Associates for five consecutive years. The award recognizes facilities that maintain a patient satisfaction ranking in the 95th percentile or higher for three consecutive years.
For those struggling with excess weight, diabetes, or both, here is a scientifically and medically based program for better health in accordance with guidelines set by the American Diabetes Association and Obesity Society. The Center’s highly personalized approach features individualized treatment. The goal is to make lifelong changes to improve health and well-being.

The Sleep Center offers comprehensive services for all ages because sleep disorders do not only affect adults.
Adult Sleep Services— Overnight Stay in a private room, Polysomnography, an advanced technology, to evaluate important body functioning during sleep, Devices Monitor Heart Rhythm, Brain Waves, Muscle Activity, Eye Movement, Oxygen Levels and Breathing, and a Closed Circuit Camera allows the technologist to watch over the patient throughout the night. The data is processed by a computer and analyzed. The results are forwarded to the patient’s physician with recommendations for follow-up treatment.
Nationally recognized as a Center of Excellence from the American Geriatrics Society. As a NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Hospitalized Elderly) hospital, Greenwich is one of 300 hospitals across the country providing systematic training and resources to assure older hospitalized patients receive sensitive and exemplary care. Their Geriatrician specialists focus on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases and problems common to the elderly. In addition, they coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, such as social workers, pharmacists, physical therapists, dietitians and psychiatrists, to make sure patients receive the comprehensive services they need.
Inpatient and outpatient programs meet the unique needs of older adults, their families and caregivers.
Services Include—Memory Evaluation, Caregiving Consultations, Home Safety Assessment, Medication Interactions and Psychiatry.
Offer comprehensive and thorough Physical Exams for busy executives in a private and comfortable setting. The exam is conducted within four hours, with most of the results available for discussion during that timeframe. The focus is on health and wellness information, disease prevention and early detection. A wide range of services and specialties is covered, eliminating the need for multiple visits. Patients receive a full report of findings and recommendations.
The exam includes— Medical interview and physical examination, Cardiac stress testing, Pulmonary function test, Chest x-ray, Vision test and Glaucoma screening, Hearing test (avoid loud noise for 24 hours prior), Blood work (fasting required), Nutrition assessment, Fitness assessment, additional imaging studies, such as CT scans, Mammograms, Colonoscopies and Osteoporosis screening, may be ordered as needed or requested during the exam. A half-hour therapeutic massage is also allocated as part of the total exam time, and is available upon request.
Workplace Health Programs for Employers— reduce absenteeism, increase productivity and improve morale.
Employers may select from a wide range of services to create a program that meets their needs. Services include— Workplace Medical Departments, Onsite Fitness Centers, Ergonomic Job Analysis and Safety Evaluations, Educational Programs on health, wellness and disease prevention, and Health Screening Programs.
The Cancer Institute at Greenwich Hospital has been named an “Outstanding Achievement Award” winner by the Commission on Cancer. Advanced patient care is administered through the newest generation of radiation technology, minimally invasive surgery techniques and genetic screening.
