After launching just over a year ago, THE LOCAL VAULT has found the key to success. Led by co-founders Patricia Espinosa, Betsy Perry and Julie Rubich, the virtual marketplace for pre-owned home décor successfully bridges the gap between bricks-and-mortar buying and online shopping.

“We knew there was an opportunity when we started, but we didn’t realize what a big opportunity it was,” says Espinosa. “This year has exceeded our expectations.”

Selling a variety of carefully curated merchandise that includes seating, lighting and home accessories, The Local Vault offers a range of products and price points with a personal touch that instills confidence. “We know each piece because we’ve seen it, touched it and felt it,” says Espinosa. “People get to know us and trust us.”

Collaborations with Rinfret, Apadana and Circa Antiques have enabled The Local Vault to expand its offerings to clients. While future plans include building more retail partnerships to further grow their selection, the welcoming experience visitors have on the site will stay the same. “We want people to feel like they’re shopping with their girlfriends,” says Perry. “The site feels intimate yet exclusive.”

That vision may be another key to success. “At the end of the day, we’re all passionate about home décor,” says Espinosa. “I feel like this is just the beginning for us.” thelocalvault.com
