It was kismet that Michael and Asya would one day be together. The couple’s paths almost crossed at a house party in Greenwich when Michael was in college and Asya was in high school. She was standing underneath the basketball hoop and Michael asked his friend, “Who is that?” Although they never spoke, Michael was impressed.

Fast-forward to a decade later, when they bumped into each other at a friend’s engagement party. This time Michael was not going to let Asya slip away. He introduced himself and the relationship was set on course. The couple dated for just over a year before becoming engaged. Rabbi Brian Leiken officiated at the ceremony at the Greenwich Polo Club, where the reception followed.

The bride, daughter of Michael and Marina Varshisky of Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich Academy and Cornell University. Asya works for Sotheby’s in Manhattan.

The groom, son of Stephen and Susan Geller of Greenwich, graduated from Brunswick School and Skidmore College. Michael is the CEO and founder of Mike’s Organic Delivery

The newlyweds honeymooned in Turks and Caicos before returning home to Greenwich.
