Last Minute Mother’s Day Ideas

We get it, life gets busy. Here are some last minute local ideas to show Mom the day she deserves!

Saturday: To-Do

Brews on Bedford – For the hoppy mom, Stamford Downtown will be hosting their annual Brews on Bedford, a craft brew festival featuring over 40 beer varieties from 15+ breweries. Due to weather, this year it will be held at The Palms (129 Atlantic Street, Stamford) from 1pm-5pm. Grab a ticket fast – they’re going quick!

Lord and Taylor – For the fashion forward mom, Louise Camuto will be giving a trend presentation at Lord and Taylor and 3pm. The presentation will be followed by styling and shopping!

Heather Gaudio Fine Art – For the art inspired mom, Heather Gaudio Fine Art in New Canaan has an all-women exhibition, “Matter at Hand,” that ranges in medium. Stop by anytime between 10:30am and 5:30pm.

Terrain – For the botanical inspired mom, Terrain in Westport has events happening all day! There’s a Coffee & Conversation with Master Gardener Angela Trucks followed by a workshop for the kiddos to make mom a terrarium. Dads, if you’re a little late on the gift, fear not – there’s a Mother’s Day Trunkshow that will have a variety of designers to choose from. Take your pick!

Cocktails in Cuba – For the fiesta inspired mom, take a night off with a cocktail in Cuba! The Junior League of Stamford/Norwalk will be hosting their annual Spring Spirit Silent Auction & Cocktail Party from 7-10pm at The Carriage Barn Arts Center in New Canaan.

Hip Hop Sip & Shop – For the fitness inspired mom, Athleta in Greenwich will be hosting a fun “Mother and Daughter” 30 minute hip hop class led by Aliza Charbonneau from The Dance Pointe Greenwich. Adult and family friendly refreshments will be provided after class and all attendants will receive $10 off any purchase of $75 or more. Enter a raffle for a mother and daughter outfit and beat the rain!

Saturday: Food

Sugar and Olives – They may be booked solid and already reserving tables for next year’s Mother’s Day, but they still have space available Saturday night for a special dinner!

The Perfect Provenance – They are hosting a special Mother’s Day afternoon tea with co-host Leaf & Ardor. You can book reservations 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and enjoy a very special menu paired with delicious teas, and a tea inspired mock-tail tasting. For reservations call: 203-900-1131.

The Drawing Room – Who doesn’t love Afternoon Tea? A classic in Cos Cob, The Drawing Room is the perfect place to stop by for some finger sandwiches, scones, and tea. Still in need of a gift? You can grab one while you’re there at their boutique!

Sunday: Food

Noir – A special brunch menu will be offered for Mother’s Day  – ALL Day! Call to make a reservation (203) 323-2711.

The Fez – Come and be serenaded by the sound of Latin, Flamenco and Classical guitar while you enjoy brunch with your loved ones. From 11:30am-3pm, see their website for delicious menu.

Volta – Bottomless Mimosa’s from 8am-4pm. And Crepes. Enough said.

Cask Republic  – Cask Republic is having a special Brunch Buffet including a Carving and Gravlax Station. $35/adult, $15/kids and make your own Mimosa and Bloody Mary bar $15 with buffet $20 a la carte. If Stamford is booked, see if South Norwalk has any openings – they have the same special!

The Ginger Man – Reservations are still available at The Ginger Man on Greenwich Avenue. Brunch goes from 11am-3pm, check out their website to see the menu!

L’Escale – For $80 an adult and $25 a child you can be enjoying an amazing spread at L’Escale in Greenwich on the water. The full buffet menu is available on their website.

Rosie – In honor of the special day, this favorite in New Canaan will be extending their hours. Book a slot for any number of guests between 9am-4pm and be sure to try their new cocktail menu!

The Cottage in Westport – Chef Brian Lewis’s The Cottage, located at 256 Post Road East in Westport, will be offering a prix-fixe menu from 11am-7pm. $45 per guest; children’s menu available, 11:00am – 7:00pm.
