Although Alexandra and Matthew both attended Stamford High School, they didn’t meet until years later, at a party Matthew hosted. When she received the invitation via Facebook, Alexandra wasn’t sure she could make it. Thankfully for the couple, she was able to go, and the two have been together ever since. After three years of dating, Matthew called Alexandra, saying that his truck had broken down and he needed a ride. When she arrived, he proposed to her at the very party spot where they connected all those years before.
Pastor Diane Stevenson officiated the ceremony at North Stamford Congregational Church. A reception at The Waters Edge at Giovanni’s followed. There, family and friends serenaded Matthew’s grandmother Bice, as it was also her birthday.
The bride is the daughter of Nancy and Gregory Rupp of Stamford and John Kydes of Norwalk. She is a freelance makeup artist and a manager at DiMare Downtown Bakery in Stamford. The groom is the son of Sabrina and James Taylor of Stamford. He is the co-owner of Atlas Metals in Stamford.
For their honeymoon, the couple enjoyed a romantic stay at the Bryant Park Hotel in New York City, during which time they saw Broadway and Rockettes performances as well as a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden before returning home to Stamford.
