One of the best things about traveling is casually wandering through the various local shops just to see what each small business carries. After all, these independently owned stores carry a selection of attractive hand-made, high-quality items, like that warm hand-knit sweater you picked up in Donegal years ago. They take skill to make, and there’s almost always a gem waiting to be found and brought home.
Now that feeling of treasure hunting is a lot closer to home. Organachs Farm to Skin, a Westport boutique known for its highly curated collection of clean, organic and natural skincare and makeup is expanding its offerings to home finds. “I always envisioned ORGÁNACHS to be more of a lifestyle brand as a way of living naturally and organically,” says owner Siobhan McKinley. “ORGANACHS was created out of my desire to find the purest brands in natural skincare and beauty. As an extension of this beauty, I introduce The Home Collection, the natural beauty in our everyday surroundings. It is a sustainably-minded, curated capsule of home decor and accessories from Europe and the U.S.” Many of the items are already in stock.
McKinley is in direct contact with the selected artisans, some six-generations deep from Ireland. And its her eye for well-made items that make the change so welcome and intriguing. Stop by to see more. It will feel like you’ve wandered into a well-loved, in-the-know shop in Europe. Here’s a sneak peek at a few of the designers and their work.
