History Bites Lunchtime Chat: Rosie the Riveter’s Connecticut Story
May 15 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm$5
Gretchen Caulfield, Connecticut State Director of the American Rosie the Riveter Association (ARRA), will discuss the many ways that women in Fairfield and throughout the state contributed to the war effort during World War II. From factory jobs to volunteer work, Connecticut women stepped up to do their part. Some of these unique stories from interviews will be highlighted.
The Connecticut chapter works with “Rosies” and families of “Rosies” to preserve their stories for the ARRA national archives and book series. The purpose of the American Rosie the Riveter Association, an all-volunteer 501 c(3), is to recognize and preserve the history and legacy of women who worked and volunteered on the WWII home front. The presentation will include what the chapter is currently doing in Connecticut to honor our Rosies. Do you have a Rosie in your family?
Please bring a bagged lunch. Beverages and dessert will be provided.
