September 21 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
On September 21, at 6:00 pm, Kevin Bailey, newly-appointed Minister of Music at First Presbyterian Church in Stamford, will present a concert program of organ music from the late 16th to the early 21st centuries.
Exploring the full dynamic range of “The King of Instruments,” this program features works of organ repertoire by Sweelinck, Bach, and even 20th century jazz great George Shearing. First Presbyterian’s pipe organ, with its four manuals and over 4,000 pipes, possesses a wide dynamic range, and it is suitable for a wide variety of repertoire. A freewill offering will be collected to benefit FPC’s music ministries.
Mr. Bailey comes to Connecticut from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he served as organist/choirmaster at one of the area’s largest Lutheran churches. He completed his education at Indiana University, and achieved certification at the Associate level in the American Guild of Organists.
First Presbyterian Church is located at 1101 Bedford Street in Stamford. Free parking and accessible entrance are available.
