Featured Description (from the owner)
The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum located at 295 West Ave., Norwalk, CT is calling for artists for a juried exhibition titled, Hues of Freedom. The submission deadline is Aug. 8, 2022 at midnight. The exhibition will open on Oct. 20, 2022 with a reception at 5:30 p.m. and run through Dec. 18, 2022. Artist and Trustee Gail Ingis will select approximately 30 works from digital submissions.
As the word freedom can be subject to diverse interpretations, this exhibition will explore how artists depict the concept in their work, filtered through their creative process and drawn from their unique visualization of this multi-faceted concern be it in life, art, or history.
Ms. Ingis said, “I look forward to seeing the artists’ submissions, which I believe will be thought-provoking and inspiring to our viewers.”
The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum will welcome entries in the following categories: fine arts media, watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, and colored pencil. A fee of $35 for 4 images inclusive of a one-year membership will be required to enter. Works should be no more than five feet (sixty inches) on all sides.
This juried exhibition will be held in the Billiards Room of the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum. Artists can enter their work by visiting the Museum’s website www.lockwoodmathewsmansion.com to review eligibility and other instructions, as the jurying process will be conducted online. To reach museum staff, artists can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
