Water is the star of artist Frances Ashforth’s striking monotypes, whether it is the presence or absence of it. Many of Ashforth’s stunning monotypes present waterscapes where the water, rendered in beautiful simplicity, is clearly the subject. Her compelling exhibition “WATER + WORDS and Water” opens on Thursday, March 30 and runs through Sunday, May 21. Opening reception on March 30, 6 pm.
The New Canaan YMCA will be hosting its first gala fundraiser in over 12 years to celebrate its 63 years of service to the community, as well as its soon-to-be-completed renovated facility. On April 29, the lawn behind Waveny Mansion will be elegantly tented and transformed into a chic Saint Barths setting.
