LOCATIONPequot Library live on Zoom
Featured Description (from the owner)
The Open Book Club is a monthly curated book club that focuses on BIPOC voices and inclusive American history through fiction and nonfiction narratives. The book selection for September is Negroland by Margo Jefferson.
In this stunning memoir, Jefferson relates her upbringing and education among a black elite concerned with distancing itself from whites and the black generality while tirelessly measuring itself against both.
Negroland is a New York Times Notable Book and one of the best books of the year: The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Time, Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, Time Out New York, Minneapolis Star Tribune, Kansas City Star, Men’s Journal, Oprah.com.
